Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Palarian ("Palarian", "we") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Palarian desktop app and our websites and APIs (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

Summary (does not replace the full text)

  • Palarian may capture audio (when you enable transcription) and send it to AI providers to transcribe and generate responses.
  • You may send transcripts, prompts, and documents to get responses and context (RAG).
  • API keys (for example, OpenAI) are stored encrypted on your Windows device (DPAPI) whenever possible.
  • We use Supabase for authentication and storage of documents and metadata.
  • Payments and refunds (when applicable) are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card details.

What data we process

Account data

  • Email address
  • Authentication credentials (for example, password hashes and tokens)
  • Account preferences and profile data (when applicable)

Device data

  • Information used for "device lock" (for example, device public key and device name)
  • Technical information for diagnostics (for example, app version)

Content you provide or generate in the Service

Depending on the features you use, we may process:

  • Audio captured for real-time transcription
  • Transcribed text
  • Prompts, extra questions, and prompt configuration
  • Documents uploaded to the knowledge base (RAG) and derived data (for example, chunks and embeddings)

Usage and security data

  • Technical logs and events (for example, errors)
  • IP address and request metadata (for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting)

How we use data

We use data to:

  • Provide transcription and AI responses
  • Provide RAG features and manage your documents
  • Authenticate users and enforce device lock
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
  • Improve stability and performance (for example, diagnostics and fixes)

How we share data

We may share data with:

  • Infrastructure and database providers (for example, Supabase) to authenticate and store Service data
  • AI providers (for example, OpenAI) to transcribe audio, generate responses, and create embeddings, as you use those features
  • Payment processors (Stripe) when you purchase, subscribe, or request refunds

We do not sell your personal information.

API keys and third parties

Palarian may allow you to configure API keys (for example, OpenAI). By providing such keys:

  • you represent you are authorized to use them;
  • you understand requests made with your key may result in charges by the relevant provider;
  • you are responsible for reviewing and complying with that provider's terms and policies.

Retention

We retain data as needed to:

  • provide the Service;
  • comply with legal obligations;
  • resolve disputes;
  • enforce our agreements.

In general:

  • Account data: while your account is active (and for a reasonable period after deletion when required for legal or security reasons).
  • RAG documents: while you keep documents in the Service; you can delete documents at any time, and we will make reasonable efforts to remove active copies and stop processing.
  • Security logs: for limited periods as needed for security and audit.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect data, such as:

  • local encryption of API keys on Windows (DPAPI) when available;
  • per-user segregation and access controls in the backend (for example, RLS);
  • secret masking in local logs when applicable.

No security measure is perfect. You should protect your device, password, and keys.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights such as:

  • access, correction, and confirmation of processing;
  • deletion, portability, or restriction;
  • withdrawal of consent where applicable.

To request rights, contact: contact@palarian.com.

Children's privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required by applicable law). We do not knowingly collect children's data.

Changes

We may update this Policy. We will post the revised version with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
